It came as a big surprise to find Running Deer School in the newspapers. An article sent to the paper from the parents of one of our year 11 students left everyone at the school speechless, and humbled.
The majority of the country wait with anticipation to find out what the government will say next, and what advice they have. Adjusting to the new normal.
At Running Deer School, before the end of term students and staff will be all contributing to a time capsule community project.
Before I start, I want to acknowledge the obvious ... that it is not an ideal situation to be the Head of a school that is currently ‘closed’, or for the team to be providing remote learning and support for our young people, rather than seeing them in real life every day.
During this time of reflection, where we are all at home to protect each other, and the NHS, I have spent time thinking about Childhood. The question in the blog title was put to me in a short course from the Open University.
